Greetings GPIRA Family!

We at GPIRA hope the holiday season treated you all well and the new year will bring you all great successes! 

Congratulations to all of our members that did well at the 2011 INFR - We as a region did very well and once again brought home the gold!!! Rollie Wilson not only won the Saddle Bronc World Championship, but also the Mens All Around!!!! Kelsey Knight from the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe has made us all very proud and is our new 2011 Miss Indian Rodeo! ​​You can find a complete listing of results at www.infr.org! I know there is talk out there of the 2012 INFR having some format changes - at this time there are no changes in the format. The 2012 INFR will be held again at the South Point Casino at Las Vegas on November 6-10th. There is some minor changes coming in the 2012 Rule book - nothing to be concerned of. For example the last rule book had the old point system printed (30,25,20....etc) and the 2012 rule book will have the point system now being used (10,9,8,7...etc). ​Also all the rule changes that were voted on in 2010/11 will be included. The only change that I know of for 2012 is that all region presidents terms will now be 5 years instead of 2 years. I will keep you updated..

A quick reminder to everyone that when you purchase your INFR Membership - you all sign the document stating you are accepting of the INFR Rules and Regulations. ​​Also, should you as an individual have complaints or issues at a rodeo, there is protocol to file complaints. Should you feel you've be wronged as a contestant you must take it up with the rodeo judges before leaving the arena. Any other reasons you feel you have a complaint, you report to your Event Director(s). From there the Event Director will meet with the Region President to resolve the issue.

There is no interest at this time for any winter rodeos - we are looking at Crazy Horse being our first rodeo in June (so far). Directors, I would like to plan a spring meeting - I will contact you when we decide on a date and location. Maybe after calving season and the snow is done flying?
